This is an opportunity to learn from a world-class musical performer. Kirk Whalum, saxophonist and songwriter has been nominated for eleven Grammy Awards and won a Grammy in 2011 for Best Gospel Song for "It's What I Do"-featuring Lalah Hathaway. Mr Whalum is the recipient of numerous awards and acknowledgements for his musical excellence including three Dove Award nominations, an NAACP Image Award nomination and two Stellar Awards, Gospel music's highest honor.

Mr. Whalum will be conducting a  free clinic/workshop for interested musicians. 

This event is free and open to the public.

Donations will be accepted at the door and will be used to fund student scholarships and the Schoolcraft College Jazz Program
