Our programs provide players (both young and old) the opportunity to improve their tennis game, work hard, make new friends and have a lot of fun. Under the direction of tennis pro, Rick Kynast (USTPA), the Schoolcraft tennis staff has a passion for teaching, and the skills to help you take your game to the next level.

Our tennis program will provide you with:

10 and Under Tennis

10 and Under TennisWe are offering 10 and Under Tennis using the USTA’s format. This approach uses equipment scaled down for the younger, smaller player to make learning tennis easier and more fun. The balls have lower compression, so they don’t bounce as high and are easier to hit. The courts are marked with smaller dimensions, racquets are smaller and the scoring system is modified.

The changes really work, because now any child between ages 5 and 10 can start playing tennis almost immediately - even if he or she has never picked up a racquet before. Just like other popular youth sports, 10 and Under Tennis stresses the importance of actually playing the game of tennis and discovering the fun of this sport.
