IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT BODY OF KNOWLEDGE


The Project Management Institute published the new PMBOK® Guide–Fifth Edition in January, 2013. The update to the PMP exam will be effective on July 31, 2013, while the CAPM exam will be updated on July 1. Exams prior to these dates will be on the current Fourth Edition. The Project Management Essentials & Exam Preparation course is aligned with the new Fifth Edition. PMP® Exam Focus™, and PMP® Exam Fuel™ are shorter courses for exams on the current Fourth Edition.

According to a 2007 PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, 80% of high-performing projects use a credentialed project manager. Make sure you’re one of them by earning a PMI certification.

Project Management Essentials and Exam Preparation

PMP Exam Fuel

Prepare to take the current PMP exam based on the PMBOK® Guide - Fourth Edition, effective through July 30, 2013. Meet the July date by focusing on exam strategies and practice questions. This is not a review of the PMBOK® Guide. Instead, cover 160 practice questions and discuss the most challenging. Prerequisite: previous Project Management training and/or self-study, basic knowledge of project management and the PMBOK® Guide -Fourth Edition.



Project Management Basics

Are you a part-time project manager, accidental project manager, or a project manager who needs to refresh your knowledge and complement your skill set? Learn the basics of project management, and apply these basics into your work projects. Group exercises and classroom discussion focus on practical application of project management principles, tools and techniques necessary to successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close a project.

PMP® Examination Process

The PMP® exam is offered as a computer-based test through the global network of Prometric testing centers. The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions. 25 are pre-release questions, which are not included in exam scoring. The score is calculated based on the other 175 questions.

Candidates who take the computer-based test receive their results (passed or not passed) immediately upon completion. PMI also evaluates proficiency levels in each project management process group from high proficiency to low proficiency in a score report which the candidates receive after the examination.

Prerequisites to be Eligible for the PMP® Examination

Candidates must verify a high school diploma or an associate’s degree with 60 months (7,500 hours) of project management experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 36 months (4,500 hours) of project management experience. In both cases candidates must also have 35 contact hours of project management education. The application for the exam and verification of education and experience are done online at the PMI website.

CAPM® Examination Process

The PMP® exam is offered as a computer-based test through the global network of Prometric testing centers. The exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions. 15 are pre-release questions, which are not included in exam scoring. The score is calculated based on the other 135 questions.

Candidates who take the computer-based test receive their results (passed or not passed) immediately upon completion. PMI also evaluates proficiency levels in each project management process group from high proficiency to low proficiency in a score report which the candidates receive after the examination.

Prerequisites to be Eligible for the CAPM® Examination

To apply for the CAPM, you need to have:

  • A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent) and;
  • At least 1,500 hours experience OR 23 hours of project management education.

He has broad expertise in plastics application technology and the development of new processes and products, with a strong focus on the innovation process and infrastructure. Eric is a Credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP®), and holds a number of patents in the area of printing on compound surfaces, and other aspects of polycarbonate glazing.
