The College Selection Process: A Training for Counselors - Hybrid Course
This hybrid class offers an introduction to the theory and skills needed to work with students and families in the college selection process. Topics include: preparation for college, developmental theory, researching colleges, admission testing, the application process, financial aid, college selection, working with students and families, and creating an effective college counseling office. Prerequisite: open to school counselors, students in a school counselor training program, and other interested students who have contacted the instructor prior to enrolling. Instructor will provide instructions for online coursework. This course is State Board approved for 45 State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECH). This course includes thirty hours of in-class instruction and 15 hours of online coursework. Daytime courses have a half-hour lunch which is not included in SCECH total.**
