Did you know that Alzheimer's disease is not the only form of dementia? Through research and clinical testing, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) has been identified as a degenerative brain disorder that creates undeniable personality changes and deteriorates language and motor skills along with cognitive functions. Learn more about the "other" dementia known as FTD, its specific markers, and greater insight, through actual video testimonies, into the challenges families and affected individuals face daily. Recommendation: take CES 4303 Fundamentals of Dementia Care first. This class is an elective to complete the certificate. This class is approved for 2 continuing education contacts hours for nurses by Schoolcraft College, 2 continuing education contact hours for social workers by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and 0.2 CEUs for other professionals.
