Hospital Pharmacy Technician
Prepare for a career as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital setting. In this intensive career training course, you will explore the many responsibilities and daily operations. Topics include: hospital pharmacy organization, work flow and personnel, medical and pharmaceutical terminology, the top 200 prescribed and top 100 over-the-counter drugs, data entry, packaging and labeling, extemporaneous compounding, inpatient drug distribution systems, quality assurance, drug storage and inventory control. All learning materials are included in the class cost. Prerequisite: strong competency with math skills including arithmetic, basic algebra, complex fractions and equations, conversions and basic analytical concepts (skills utilized in high school algebra) and 9th grade reading competency. Employment in a hospital setting may require proof of immunization records and/or other medical documentation. Daytime classes have a lunch which is not included in CEU total.
