Course Description
This course is a continuation of ART 211 providing for further investigation of water-based media, techniques and processes. Studio experiences with emphasis on individual experimentation and visual imagery will be part of this course.

Course Competencies
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Investigate or create works of art which encourage positive behavior.
- Explain the ways in which the visual arts can function within society.
- Explore the relationship of water-based media to other art forms.
- Explain the characteristics and applications of opaque water-based media).
- Apply appropriately many different properties of watercolor paints (i.e. opaque, transparent, staining, non-staining).
- Explain the characteristics and application of transparent water-based media.
- Effectively apply washes to create desired outcome.
- Apply effective masking techniques.
- Apply effective glazing techniques.
- Create a series of paintings in water-based media.
