Course Description
Instruction will stress the development of strong muscle growth and bone health, as well as improvement of cardiovascular function through the use of resistance bands, X-er tubes, stability balls and free weights.

(A requirement that must be completed before taking this course.)

Course Competencies
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Explain the function of resistance training.
- Demonstrate proper body alignment.
- Demonstrate the proper use of free weights, resistance bands, X-er tubes, stability balls and all apparatus available.
- Explain various fitness principles as they relate to exercising purposefully and safely.
- Explain various fitness principles as they relate to exercising purposefully and safely.
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to perform exercises in a safe and effective manner.
