Helping Middle Schoolers with Math

     For years Garden City Middle School students have attended classes next door to Schoolcraft College’s Radcliff Center.  This fall 20 lucky eighth grade students will be taking a free enrichment-focused math class inside Schoolcraft College’s walls. The classes will be taught by Schoolcraft faculty from 2:55 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. every Tues. and Thurs. for eight weeks.  Students learn about integers, solving equations, slope, Y-intercept multi-step story problems and multi-level performance tasks.  The class is designed enhance the traditional classroom learning and students will take part in activities, games and technology that will make the lessons challenging and fun.
