Mayor KirkseyOn Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. in the VisTaTech Center, Livonia Mayor Jack Kirksey will be talking to Schoolcraft College Students about running for public office.

Holding public office isn’t for everyone, and the job is much more difficult than it looks. Some call it the most thankless job there is, but others love serving the public and their constituents.

Mayor Kirksey has lead one of Michigan’s largest cities for decades, and he will be sharing his thoughts and experiences with students who may be considering a similar career path.

Kirksey will be introduced by Schoolcraft College President Dr. Conway Jeffress in what should be an informative and entertaining presentation. The event is sponsored by Schoolcraft College Learning and Support Services, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Schoolcraft College’s University Bound program.
