Concerts in December Get Everyone in the Winter Holiday Spirit

Paul Keller Ensemble on Wed., Dec. 4 at Noon

     Jazz bassist, composer, arranger and bandleader Paul Keller has been a favorite with Detroit and Ann Arbor Jazz fans for years. His ensembles have covered a variety of jazz styles, with arrangements for groups ranging from trio to big band.

     Keller’s seven-piece ensemble includes trumpeter Paul Finkbeiner, saxophonist Keith Kaminski, trombonist Terry Kimura, pianist Ellen Rowe and drummer Sean Dobbins. For this special performance of holiday music, the Paul Keller Ensemble will be joined by vocalist Sarah D’Angelo.

Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Improvisation Combo on 
Mon., Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

     The Schoolcraft College jazz studies program under the direction of Dr. Riccardo Selva will present an evening of jazz performances featuring the talented musicians of the Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Improvisation Combo.

     The concert program will feature both large and small jazz groups performing traditional, contemporary, and holiday jazz arrangements.

Music Ensembles present Sounds of the Season on Tues., Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. 

     Schoolcraft College’s music ensembles, including the Choral Union, Synthesizer Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, will present a special holiday concert for the community. This extremely popular annual event will include a variety of spirited seasonal selections from a wide range of musical eras and a variety of genres.

    All three concerts are free and open to the public and will be held in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads.
