Caroline H. McNutt, an associate professor of biology at Schoolcraft College, recently was named the recipient of the 2013 Two-Year College Biology Teaching Award from the National Association of Biology Teachers. This award was established by the NABT Two-Year College Section to recognize two-year college educators who employ new and creative techniques in their classroom teaching.  McNutt was honored at the Two-Year College Section Reception at the NABT Professional Development Conference in Atlanta.  The award is given to one biology educator teaching at the community college level each year.

McNutt began teaching part-time at several colleges, before joining the faculty at Schoolcraft College in 1995. She is currently an associate professor of biology teaching courses in general biology, microbiology, conservation biology, nutrition, and health. She also mentors newer faculty members and honor students, and serves on numerous committees, both within the biology department and college-wide.
