Five years ago Chris Cavaliere’s son met him one evening, and to his surprise, handed him his DSLR camera and announced, "Dad, I want you to have this." That one random act of kindness changed his life forever. The moment that Chris held onto that camera he knew that he was called to be a photographer. Chris Cavaliere is now traveling to various locations throughout the world documenting teams as they work to make the world a better place. On Wed., Mar. 19 he will share his experiences in a presentation at 1 p.m. in the Lower Waterman area of the VisTaTech Center.
As part of this year’s Focus Series, which is focusing on the Caribbean for 2014, Cavaliere will highlight the juxtaposition of beauty and pain that he witnessed upon travelling to Haiti from his perspective of a middle class westerner.  This presentation, Portraits of Haiti, will be accompanied by a beautiful photography exhibition that also will be showcased during Schoolcraft College’s annual Multicultural Fair on Apr. 3.
