Spaghetti Dinner and Wine Glow supports scholarships for students

The college's annual Spaghetti Dinner and Wine Glow will be held Tuesday, March 20. Tickets are $35 per person and all proceeds benefit the scholarships and programs provided by the Transition Center. The evening’s festivities will include a 5:30 p.m. Wine Glow, Dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a brief program at 7:30 p.m. The Schoolcraft College Synthesizer Ensemble will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening and there will be a 50/50 raffle drawing.

Eighth graders invited to have fun and learn about college options at Middle School College night

Eighth graders and their families are invited to Middle School College Night, where they can play games and learn how choices in high school create options for college. The event is free and open to the public. It includes on-site representatives from colleges and universities throughout Michigan and a presentation by the Michigan Department of Treasury titled "How to Pay for College."

Theatre Department presents "Romeo and Juliet" in March and April

The college's production of Romeo and Juliet is a special one, edited by Professor James R. Hartman, for more accessibility and ease of understanding. The college's Theatre Department will present Romeo and Juliet March 23-24 and 30-31 in Dinner Theatre form for $24 per person and as Theatre only performances April 13-14 for $12 per person.

Take a trip around the world at annual Multicutural Fair on March 29

More than two dozen nations and cultures will be represented at the 2012 Multicultural Fair, an international celebration organized by students for the benefit of the college and the community. The fair, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the VisTaTech Center on Thursday, March 29 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

On Wednesday, March 21, 2012, four accomplished members of the Schoolcraft College Music Department's faculty will perform a free concert at noon in the VisTaTech Center as part of the college’s annual Free Noon Concert Series.

 "The Undertaking: Life Studies from the Dismal Trade," by local author, Thomas Lynch, is the focus of Pageturners book club's March selection. Students, staff, faculty and the community are invited to explore "The Undertaking" this month, including two discussions (March 22 and 26), a viewing of an episode of Frontline about the book (March 21), and a Meet the Author event with Lynch (March 27).

Open House on March 13 focuses on Kids on Campus summer camp program

Kids and their parents can learn more about the upcoming summer camps, meet instructors, ask questions, visit the campus, see class demonstrations and register on-site during the Kids on Campus Open House on Tuesday, March 13, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center, located on the main campus of Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads.

Annual Public Safety Expo is March 14

Schoolcraft College’s annual Public Safety Expo will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Radcliff Center in Garden City. Potential employers will be on hand to accept resumes and answer questions about their programs. The expo is free and the public is invited.

Piano Academy to host Open House for school-age children on March 18

On Sunday, March 18 from 1-4 p.m. children in grades 1-12 and their parents are invited to attend an Open House to learn more about Schoolcraft’s Piano Academy.  The Academy begins in September and runs through the school year with 32 weeks of group and private lessons for students in the first through twelfth grades.  The program offers comprehensive instruction in sight-reading, keyboard theory and rhythmic skills along with performance opportunities.

Tribute to Andrews Sisters to be performed at Schoolcraft on March 23

Three local performers will pay homage to “America’s Wartime Sweethearts,” the Andrews Sisters, on Friday, March 23, 2011 at 8 p.m. The concert will be held in the Presentation Room of the VisTaTech Center, located on the college’s main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads. Tickets are $20 per person, $10 for students.
