Presented to great critical and popular acclaim first off-Broadway and then on Broadway, Ernest Thompson's "On Golden Pond" is a touching, funny, and warmly perceptive study of a spiritied and lovable elderly couple facing their twilight years. Retired New England professor and lovable curmudgeon, Norman Thayer, Jr. (played by Christopher Martin of Livonia), and his spirited wife, Ethel (played by Elizabeth Tumminello of Walled Lake), decide to spend one final summer at their family's lakeside cottage in Maine. Their idyllic summer plans are soon interrupted by the arrival of their daughter, Chelsea (played by Kristen Campbell of Canton), who en route to her own European vacation, leaves behind her fiance's young son. Colliding generations soon forge common ground in this heartwarming and hilarious celebration of the everyday struggles and ultimate triumphs of live, love and family.

Other members of the cast and crew include Scott Dreaver, Greg Shaver and Todd Walsh of Canton; Jake Beitzel, Janet Mastaw and Ilaena McAllister of Livonia; and Brittany Teliin of Northville. The Schoolcraft College Theatre Department performs under the direction of Dr. James Hartman.
