Be prepared. Safeguard your child!

The Michigan Child ID Program will be at Schoolcraft College on Friday, August 3 from 3-6 p.m. in the VisTaTech Center.
The free Michigan Child ID Program provides parents and guardians with a "Child ID Package" that contains all the vital information necessary to expedite law enforcement efforts to locate a missing child. The program also helps to educate families about abduction prevention and safety.
During the event on August 3 children will progress through a series of stations with the latest techniques and computer technology will be used to record a child's unique characteristics. Once completed, each child will have their own "Child ID Package" that includes a photo identification card (ready to print at home) for parents or guardians to carry; a complete set of laser-scanned fingerprints; a recorded interview that captures speech. appearance, mannerisms, and other characteristics that can't be changed by cosmetic means. In fact, it's considered to be one of the most comprehensive child recovery and identification programs in the nation by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The Michigan Child ID Program is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
