Learn about Pharmacy Technician training program on August 28

You can learn more about Schoolcraft College’s  Professional Pharmacy Technician training program and pharmacy tech careers during a free information session on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 6 p.m. The session will be held in the Biomedical Technology Center on the college's main campus in Livonia.

According to Economic Modeling Specialists Inc., the employment outlook for the field of pharmacy technicians is expected to grow by over 18% through 2018.  Additionally, the average annual earnings in Michigan for pharmacy technicians is around $13.92.  This rate can increase with additional training.

“The pharmaceutical field is booming with the aging population and the increased use of pharmaceuticals, thereby increasing the demand for professionally trained pharmacy technicians.  It is a very stable career and offers a number of professional opportunities,” says Jennifer Bodurka, Program Coordinator at Schoolcraft College. “Our 14-week pharmacy technician training program is comprehensive and hands-on.  Plus, we are now offering a payment plan to make the class cost more manageable for students.”

The free information session is open to the public and is intended for individuals who are interested in a career as a Pharmacy Technician.  During this session, attendees will be able to meet with the instructor to review class offerings, course curriculum and certification requirements as well as learn more about pharmacy technician career opportunities.

In addition to the information session about the Pharmacy Technician training program, Schoolcraft College will be hosting an information session about the Pharmaceutical Sterile Compounding Training program on Wednesday, August 29 at 6 p.m. For more information on these programs visit www.schoolcraft.edu/cepd/pharmacy or contact the Continuing Education and Professional Development department at 734-462-4448.
