Enjoy Schoolcraft basketball

Schoolcraft College boasts a long tradition of winning basketball teams, both for the women and men cagers. Both teams have journeyed to the National Junior College Athletic Association's championship playoffs several times.

This year, both the women's team under Coach Karen Lafata and the men's team under Coach Michael Brown began the '06-'07 season with winning records, and aim to continue their streak. Admission to all the games is free and there is ample parking in the college's south lot.

In January, there are five home games for both the men and women. Plan to attend some or all of them:

  • Monday, Jan. 8 against Wayne County Community College, women at 5:30 p.m. and men at 7:30 p.m.;
  • Saturday, Jan. 13 against Macomb County Community College, women at 1 p.m. and men at 3 p.m.;
  • Wednesday, Jan. 17 against Oakland Community College, women at 5:30 p.m. and men at 7:30 p.m.;
  • Wednesday, Jan. 24 against Alpena Community College, women at 5:30 p.m. and men at 7:30 p.m.;
