WRC Spaghetti Dinner features success stories

The yearly fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center is a sellout every March, a testament to the community support for this office that is dedicated to transforming the lives of women who may have no job, no money or no self confidence. They may be newly widowed or divorced or just seeking help in making a better life for themselves and their children.

This year’s Spaghetti Dinner is March 20, and after the wine glow and dinner, guests will hear the personal stories of women who have been through the WRC programs, and are on a path toward success. Last year’s dinner raised more than $15,000 for scholarships.

The WRC offers the CHIPS and CHIPS TOO programs that helps participants enroll in a college curriculum. Assertiveness training, physical fitness and support groups also are part of these programs. Other services include personal and career counseling, financial guidance, and free divorce recovery sessions and legal advice. For questions about the WRC, call 734-462-4443.
