Halloween Concert Oct. 28th

The annual Halloween Concert will be held Sunday, October 28 at 7 p.m. at Radcliff Center in Garden City. This family-friendly concert and is free and open to the public. In addition to the performances by the Wind Ensemble and Synthesizer Ensemble, who will be performing in costume, there will be a children’s costume parade. Everyone is encouraged to attend in costume and join the fun! Refreshments will follow the performances and parade.

The 38-member Wind Ensemble will offer a variety of appropriately-themed musical selections in celebration of Halloween, including Chillers and Thrillers, a compilation of themes of suspense; selections from Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter; Bugler’s Holiday, a trumpet trio; Light Calvery Overture; Swearingen’s Deep River, and The Chimes of Liberty by Sousa.

As a special treat, the Synthesizer Ensemble will be combining their musical talents along with a unique multi-media presentation to accompany their performance of Africa, made popular by the band Toto in the ’80’s. During the group’s performance of Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem, Barton Polot, director, will transform vocalist Josh Maroit’s voice from a solo performance to a multi-voice chorus via technology.
