Unique culinary experience awaits VisTa Gala patrons April 4

Patrons attending the VisTa Gala scholarship fundraising event at Schoolcraft College on Saturday, April 4 will have the rare opportunity to get an intimate look inside Schoolcraft's state-of-the-art culinary kitchens while mingling with world-class culinary chef-instructors and their students.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with wine and hors d'oeuvres on Main Street inside the VisTaTech Center. At 7:30 p.m. guests move to the DiPonio Room for a seated course and welcoming remarks. Beginning at 8:30 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy a strolling dinner. Each of the Culinary Arts Department's six state-of-the-art kitchens will feature extraordinary foods prepared by students under the supervision of executive and certified master chefs. Seated service is available with advance notice. A dessert buffet and coffee service by Cadillac Coffee begins at 9:30 p.m.

MENU HIGHLIGHTS AWARD-WINNING SALON TEAM: Under the direction of Chef Kevin Gawronski, Schoolcraft's five-member team won the American Culinary Federation's Central Regional salon competition in February. For VisTa Gala the team will be offering dishes from its award-winning menu, including Paupiettes de Sole 'a la Trouvilliase, which is a paupiette of dover sole, poached in its own essence, with Prince Edward Island mussel, Maine Bay shrimp, channeled button mushrooms and shrimp sauce.
