Bob-Lo--Past, Present, Future is subject of upcoming luncheon on April 29

Do you remember the Bob-Lo boats that used to cruise up and down the Detroit River every summer? Join the Transition Center for lunch and get reacquainted with the SS Ste. Claire at a special luncheon Friday, April 20, 2011.

The SS Ste. Claire, which celebrated 100 years in May, 2010, is the last remaining steamship built by Frank Kirby. And she will be cruising the Detroit River once again, thanks to principal owner, Ron Kattoo, and a growing band of passionate volunteers. During this special luncheon Kattoo will offer an historic perspective of the unforgettable boat as well as share the exciting details of the renovation project that has so many inspired to participate.

The luncheon will be held in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. Reservations for the luncheon and conversation are $16 per person and must be received by the Transition Center by April 22.
