Jeff Dwarshuis, classical guitarist, to perform free concert November 16

Jeff Dwarshuis, classical guitarist will perform a free concert on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, as part of the Schoolcraft College's annual Noon Concert Series. The performance will be held in the VisTaTech Center on the college's main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads, and is free and open to the public.

The program will feature classical guitar repertoire from the Renaissance through modern composers and will include works by Isaac Albeniz and Fernando Sor. Dwarshuis “…draws the audience in with his deep knowledge of classical guitar composers and works, edu cating while entertaining. His passion for the music shines through during his performances.” His extensive repertoire covers Renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and modern music.

Dwarshuis has performed at many venues throughout the Midwest, including Kalamazoo Valley College, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Cranbrook Art Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts. He is a frequent guest and performer on WGVU Morning Show in Kalamazoo.

Other concerts in the series include a Tribute to Don Morelock on December 7; the Motor City Brass Quartet on February 8; and the Schoolcraft Music Faculty on March 21.
