Local gardening expert to speak at Transition Center Luncheon on April 13

Virginia Froehlich, local gardening expert, will present, " Plants that will Make You Itch and Make You Twitch...and Maybe Even Kill You!" at the Transition Center Luncheon on Friday, April 13, 2012. With the increased popularity of personal and community gardening in today’s society comes an increased responsibility to learn about the dangers lurking in the plant kingdom. Virginia Froehlich will take a humorous, yet informative, look at “plant criminals” we may be harboring in our homes and gardens.

As a MSU Extension Advanced Master Gardener, Froehlich has spoken at Master Gardener conferences and garden clubs throughout southeast Michigan. She has served as a Past District I Director of Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.; Immediate Past President of Ikebana International, Detroit Chapter 85; and Past President of the Grosse Ile (Michigan) Garden Club. She is also currently certified as a National Garden Clubs, Inc., Gardening
Consultant and Landscape Consultant.

Reservations for the luncheon, $20 per person, must be made in advance by April 6. Click here for more information or call 734-462-4443. All proceeds from the Transition Center Luncheon Series benefit the Transition Center and its various scholarship programs.
