Strictly speaking, the Welcome Desk is not a person – but there are plenty of people who sit behind it who are welcoming, friendly and informative. Because the McDowell Center is the location for almost all student services — admission, registration, financial aid, counseling, career and transfer information, and testing — lots of people come here.

As you walk in through the front doors, you will see a desk, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a person. This person can help you figure out which office you need, tell you how to get there, and help you if you need a student number or forgot the one you have.

You also will find materials such as schedules, catalogs and even registration forms during the registration period. If you're lucky, there will be a complimentary piece of candy to give you extra energy. So the first time you enter McDowell, or the next time, say hello to the friendly people behind the Welcome Desk, and ask a question.
