Vice President & CFO practices careful fiscal management
Jill O’Sullivan, Schoolcraft’s vice president and chief financial officer, is the college’s only vice president and a member of the president’s cabinet. Her role is to keep a firm handle on the budget, advise the executive officers on matters involving finance, business, legal issues, public safety and facilities, and oversee capital construction projects.
O’Sullivan is President of the Schoolcraft Development Authority and a member of the Schoolcraft College Foundation Finance Committee. She frequently wears a hard hat these days as she keeps a trained eye on the construction of the new Biomedical Technology Center, working closely with Facilities Management, the architect and the construction manager. She prepares and updates the facilities master plan, and is responsible for making sure that the proper amount of tax is levied and collected by the local governments.
O’Sullivan has pledged to provide the campus with financial and physical resources to create the optimal learning environment, and promises that Schoolcraft will run efficiently. She says deficit is not a word we use here, and has continued the college’s policy of careful fiscal management and little or no debt.
