Stacey Stover leads Schoolcraft recruitment efforts

Schoolcraft recruiters visit area high schools, attend local college night events, and go to company-sponsored educational fairs. They talk about the value of an education, and why it is important for the community, the state and the nation. While doing that, the recruiters point out that students should consider Schoolcraft as a strong option for beginning their higher education career.

Stacey Stover, recruitment and Student Activities supervisor, says she never thinks of her job as selling Schoolcraft, but of talking to people about education. In that capacity, she schedules anything from an hour to whole days in front of high school classes, giving presentations on careers in medicine, science, culinary arts, and other Schoolcraft programs. She also handles all campus tours, arranging for between 800 and 1,000 guests to see the classrooms and grounds.

Her job also involves organizing large community-focused events such as College Night, Middle School College Night and a yearly high school counselor workshop. She also supervises the Student Activities Office, mainly with support and attending events, and directs the Student Ambassadors.

Stover is an enthusiastic representative of the college and says she enjoys her job so much because she gets to meet and work with young people, each day offers something new and exciting, and she has a great staff to help her.
