Cory Hamlin

A more mature outlook and greater appreciation for what it takes to work and go to school are assets Cory Hamlin says he has received during his first year at Schoolcraft. Hamlin carries a full-time class load and works part-time in the Schoolcraft Admissions and Enrollment Center and at another part-time job in a bowling alley. “The combination of my work at Schoolcraft and my work as a student has given me the chance to see life at the college from two perspectives.”

He plans to transfer to Eastern Michigan University or the University of Michigan to pursue a bachelor’s in business and sports marketing, and hopes to have a career in journalism, broadcasting, or as a sports agent.

The enthusiasm of his John Glenn High School guidance counselor for Schoolcraft’s location, size, affordability, and overall quality inspired Hamlin to attend. The personal instruction he receives from his instructors and the warm and fun campus atmosphere continue to impress him.
