One of the best things Swati Rajpurohit says she received from Schoolcraft College was the “courage and confidence to continue my education.” She worked as a student aid in the Schoolcraft library and attended the college after moving to the U.S. from India in 2000. A pre-school daughter and other responsibilities limited her to taking a few classes at a time.

“It would’ve been easy to stop my education and just work, but my instructors were incredible—absolutely amazing. They believed in me and helped me believe in myself.” After her graduation from Schoolcraft, Rajpurohit began attending Madonna College where she is now a nursing student. She currently works in an externship through Oakwood Healthcare System.
