Art exhibit features faculty member's photos and paintings

The International Institute’s Focus: South Asia series will host a special art exhibit March 11 – April 3 in the Bradner Library. The featured artist is Schoolcraft College’s own Dr. Virinder Chaudhery, part-time faculty member in the Humanities Department.

The art exhibit, “A South Asian Sojourn,” will feature photographs of temples and other locations throughout India, including the Taj Mahal. In addition, Dr. Chaudhery’s exhibit will include paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolor on various themes and interpretations pertaining to Buddha’s life and other Indian mythology.

Dr. Chaudhery was raised in the state of Punjab, India, in a place where large communities of Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Sikhs lived side-by-side in peace. He is a practicing artist and art historian and earned his Ph.D. in art administration from the University of Michigan.
