No-classes-cancelled Guarantee Offered for Winter

The college has heard from frustrated students who need a class to complete their certificate or associate degree, or want to take a specific course for transfer or to achieve some other goal, but can’t because the class they want gets cancelled.

The SC No-classes-cancelled Guarantee serves students by not cancelling credit classes based on the number of students registered. This allows students to plan ahead and to achieve their educational goals at Schoolcraft if they know that certain classes are going to be available. As sections of classes fill up, Schoolcraft uses just-in-time scheduling to add sections based on student demand.

There are situations in which a class might be cancelled for reasons other than the number of students enrolled. For example, if an instructor originally scheduled to teach a class becomes unavailable and the college is unable to find another instructor for that class, the college reserves the right to cancel that class.

This new approach to scheduling classes is was piloted in the Fall 2011 semester and renewed for Winter 2012.

Updated information on the SC No-classes-cancelled guarantee will be posted here.
