Motorcycle Safety Classes offered at Schoolcraft College

With the warm weather comes the motorcycle riding season. Before you jump on that motorcycle, however, you should consider taking a motorcycle safety course at Schoolcraft College. The fee for each class is $25.

Class sessions are available now and throughout the summer. Classes are available during the week and on weekends. See the complete schedule of classes at http://www.schoolcraft.edu/ces/motorcycle.asp.

For beginners, there are basic rider courses presented in three formats to fit most busy schedules. Motorcycles are provided, and participants get about 16 hours of instruction. For those who know how to ride but do not have a license, or want to brush up on their skills, there is a performance-based course. Participants bring their own bikes to the one-day class. Experienced riders can learn to get the most from their touring or sports bikes in the one-day experienced rider course.

The classes, part of the Detroit-Metro Regional Motorcycle Safety Consortium, are supported with state funds from a motorcycle safety grant administered by the Michigan Department of State. For more information, call (734) 462-4452.
