Business Information Technology Program at Schoolcraft College 2009-10
Information technology professionals speak one language while business professionals speak another. In many organizations there is a growing need for people who are fluent in both languages and can serve as the liaison between business people and information technology departments. If you like to work with people, are a good problem-solver, and are able to manage multiple projects, a career in the growing field of business information technology might be for you.
Schoolcraft College offers both an associate degree and a certificate program in Business Information Technology. http://www.schoolcraft.edu/pdfs/guides/programs/Business_Information_Technology.pdf
The business information technology certificate takes about one year of full-time study to complete and is designed to provide students with an overview of both business and computer systems. With continual changes in hardware, software and procedures and the use of computers in all areas of all types of businesses, those with the latest, most-up-to-date knowledge of technology and a solid understanding of business operations are in demand.
The associate degree in business information technology prepares graduates for pursuit of a four-year degree or employment in the workforce, applying their broad exposure to various aspects of business with significant information technology knowledge. Business information technology professionals will find job opportunities in nearly every industry and in organizations large and small. They can use their unique blend of skills and knowledge as computer systems analysts, computer support specialists and database administrators.
