Christopher Scholl and Kevin Byslma perform December 1

The concert will feature classical to contemporary selections performed by Christopher Scholl, tenor, and Kevin Bylsma, piano, including works by Leoncavallo, Ernesto de Curtis, Reynaldo Hahn, Jules Massenet, Richard Strauss, Mark Hayes, and William Bolcom.

Tenor, Christopher Scholl, returned to the United States in 1997 after 20 years in Europe, where he enjoyed a highly successful performance career that included opera, oratorio and recitals. He has performed in cities such as Munich, Mannheim, Kiel, Rostock, Paris, Marseilles and Trieste. His operatic repertoire embraces music from the baroque to the 20th century and Broadway. He currently is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Voice Faculty at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

Kevin Bylsma is an accomplished pianist and vocal coach who is well known in the Midwest for his work in art song, opera, and oratorio. As head of music preparation for the Toledo Opera, he coached productions of "Tosca," "The Tales of Hoffmann," and "The Magic Flute." Bylsma has appeared throughout the United States, Canada and Europe as an organist, pianist and accompanist and is the recipient of a number of competitive awards including the Robert Glasgow Organ Scholarship from the University of Michigan and Lucille Mehaffie Young Artist Award.
