Auditions for "On Golden Pond" are January 18-19

Auditions for Schoolcraft College's Winter Theatre Production, "On Golden Pond," will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, January 18 and 19, at 7 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Theatre on the college's main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads. Students, faculty, staff, and the general public are welcome to audition.

Presented to great critical and popular acclaim first off-Broadway and then on Broadway, Ernest Thompson's "On Golden Pond" is a touching, funny, and warmly perceptive study of a spiritied and lovable elderly couple facing their twilight years. Retired New England professor and lovable curmudgeon, Norman Thayer, Jr., and his spirited wife, Ethel, decide to spend one final summer at their family's lakeside cottage in Maine. Their idyllic summer plans are soon interrupted by the arrival of their daughter, Chelsea, who en route to her own European vacation, leaves behind her fiance's young son. Colliding generations soon forge common ground.

"On Golden Pond" is a heartwarming and hilarious celebration of the everyday struggles and ultimate triumphs of live, love and family. The play will be presented as a Dinner Theatre production the weekends of March 18-19 and March 25-26 and as a Theatre Performance April 1-2.

For more information about the auditions contact the Theatre Department at 734-462-4400 ext. 5270. Tickets for the performances in March and April can be purchased at www.scboxoffice.com.
