On Monday, January 16, 2012, the Continuing Education and Professional Development department will host a free information session for individuals who may be interested in project management or improving their career outlook with this training. The session will be held in the McDowell Center from 6 - 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Session attendees will be able to meet the instructor to review class offerings, course curriculum and certification requirements.

This free informational session and the Project Management Essentials and Exam Prepration course is the continuation of Schoolcraft College CEPD's successful partnership with Q'vive, a local leader in innovation strategy and training. The ten-week, intensive training program prepares students to take the Project Management Institute® PMP® or CAPM® certification exam.

According to the Project Management Institute, there are already more than 400,000 PMI credential holders around the world and in every industry, from healthcare, telecommunications and finance to IT and construction.  More and more project management related jobs in today's world require PMP® certification and in today's competitive job market, people looking for a Project Manager position, getting PMP® certified can significantly increase their chances of getting a job. “We are pleased to offer this training as there is a great demand for knowledgeable and certified project managers,” says Jennifer Bodurka, Programming Coordinator.
