Grant applications due March 16 for 2012-13 academic year initiatives
Published: 1/30/2012
Each year, the Schoolcraft College Foundation invites faculty and staff members to submit proposals that promote the philosophy of learner-centered policies, practices and programs throughout the College. This year, the Foundation has approved $123,924 for grants for the 2012-13 academic year. Projects that have an impact on teaching, learning and student support are considered a priority. Successful proposals may include:
• Innovations that support the delivery of quality education and engage students in learning activities.
• Improvements that benefit the student and educational environment.
• Projects that promote professional expertise and translate into enriched educational experiences for our students.
• Projects that support community outreach activities.
• Projects that assist in achieving College goals and objectives.
Proposals for capital projects such as renovation or solely for the acquisition of equipment are not appropriate for Foundation grants.
Interested faculty and staff may submit a written proposal that should include an abstract and a discussion of proposal objectives and end results, a statement indicating how the student/college will benefit, and an explanation of why this project is appropriate for Schoolcraft College Foundation funding. Proposals must include a detailed budget. Proposal application forms are available on the Forms Drive, Discovery(V)/Development/Foundation Grant Application FY2012-13.
Applicants are reminded that there may be an internal review deadline in the Department/Division and are encouraged to consult their Dean or Executive Administrator for the deadline. Proposals must be submitted for approval to the appropriate dean or executive administrator.
Proposals should be submitted to Wayne Glass, Director of Grants, by Friday, March 16, 2012. Submission by email is encouraged. Wayne (extension 4619) is available to answer questions and provide assistance in the preparation of grant proposals.
Award letters will be mailed by June 1, 2012 and funds will be available for use beginning July 1, 2012.
