Amazing shot by Schoolcraft basketball player captured on video

Published: 3/7/2012

LIVONIA - Schoolcraft College basketball player Karl Moore did what players the world over do when time is running out at the end of the first half. He heaved the ball toward his basket, which in this case was more than 70 feet away. The only difference is, Moore's shot did what most of them don't. It went in.

Moore, a sophomore forward from Detroit, launched his shot right before the buzzer from a spot lined up roughly with his opponent's free-throw line. He got nothing but net, giving his team a 43-34 halftime lead over Macomb Community College. Schoolcraft (19-11) went on to win the game 90-65. This win on March 6 advanced to Schoolcraft to a semifinal game of a National Junior College Athletic Association district tournament. Schoolcraft faces Mott Community College in Flint on March 9. The winner of the tournament advances to the NJCAA national tournament.

The Schoolcraft Sports Network was videotaping the game for rebroadcast on local cable channels. Watch Moore's amazing shot.
