Summer Tennis Program Open House on May 19: lessons for all ages

LIVONIA, MI— Tennis has been called the sport for a lifetime. But is this true? According to scientists from a variety of disciplines, tennis is still one of the best sports anyone can choose to play. To help people find out for themselves, Schoolcraft College will be hosting a Tennis Open House on Saturday, May 19th from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
During this event, attendees can meet USTPA tennis pro, Rich Kynast and his staff to find out more about the instructional and competitive tennis programs at Schoolcraft College. “This is a great opportunity to see our facilities and meet the tennis professionals. We have a great program and we want to make sure everyone in the community knows that they can participate as we have tennis classes, camps and tournaments for all ages and abilities,” says Michele Bialo, programming manager.
Fun and informational clinics will be held at these times during the event:
• 9:00am-10:00am Quick Start Tennis for kids 10 and under
• 10:00am-11:00am middle school kids
• 11:00am-12:00pm high school-aged kids and adults
Other activities will include a fast serve contest, distance contest, rally contest and a beat the pro contest! The Open House will take place at the tennis courts by the PE Building on the main campus in Livonia.
Schoolcraft’s tennis program provides students with personalized on-court instruction, skill enhancement through instructional drilling and conditioning, a fantastic tennis venue, with 12 high-quality courts and programs for every skill level: 10 and Under Tennis, High School Tennis Try-Out Preparatory Class, Young Players Tennis Camps: Ages 6–10, Junior Tennis Camps: Ages 10–18, Adult Tennis, Adult Instructional Tennis League and Tennis Tournaments.
