Each year, the Foundation invites faculty and staff to submit proposals that promote the philosophy of learner-centered policies, practices and programs throughout the College.  Projects that have an impact on teaching, learning and student support are considered a priority.  The Foundation is particularly interested in innovations that support the delivery of quality education and engage students in learning activities, improvements that benefit the student and educational environment, projects that promote professional expertise and translate into enriched educational experiences for our students, projects that support community outreach activities, and projects that assist in achieving College goals and objectives.

For FY2012-13, the Foundation received 30 proposals requesting a total of $131,292.  A review committee evaluated the proposals to determine those that met the Foundation’s objectives and to assess their alignment with College initiatives.  The awarded grants will generate nearly $89,000 in leveraged funds from other internal and external sources.  This benefits the College and the Foundation by providing more resources than the Foundation could afford on its own.  While all of the proposals received this year were excellent, the Foundation unfortunately did not have sufficient resources to fund them all.

Funding for the Foundation Grant program is possible due to the generosity of faculty, staff and external supporters of the Foundation during the Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign.  The Annual Giving Campaign each Fall is the Foundation’s largest source of unrestricted funds with which it can support the development of new programs and projects.   The Foundation Board of Governors gratefully acknowledges the many donors who give so generously.
