Lane closures and delays can be expected into mid-November while Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile is resurfaced. Students, employees and visitors are encouraged to allow extra time when driving to campus.
Haggerty Road will remain open throughout the project. There are five Schoolcraft entrances off of Haggerty; drivers can proceed to another entrance if they find that one is blocked.
The college is using the web, email, and social media to keep the college community informed about the project:

Work is scheduled for Monday through Saturday. The work will proceed in two phases. In the first phase, the two outside lanes will be closed, leaving the three interior lanes available for traffic. In the second phase, the interior lanes will be closed for repair and the outside lanes will be open. If any of five Schoolcraft entrances need repair, work will be done on one entrance at a time so that four entrances will remain available.
The $1.28 million project includes:
• milling of the existing surface
• repair of existing concrete pavement and curb
• placement of new asphalt surface
• concrete sidewalk ramp upgrades
• extension of the bike path from Wayne Avenue heading north
• new pavement markings
The project is expected to conclude in mid-November barring any unforeseen delays or inclement weather. The project is being managed by the Wayne County Roads Division with funding from the County, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and the United States Department of Transportation.

August 1, 2012 article in Observer Newspapers More road work coming, this time on Haggerty            Clarification: In the August 1 Observer newspapers article, a Wayne County official is quoted as saying that Schoolcraft is "adding a right turn" lane as part of this project. Such a lane is not part of this project. The college does have plans to add a deceleration lane to make it easier for drivers making a right turn onto campus, but that project will be scheduled for a later date. It is not part of this resurfacing project.
