Fitness Partnership to benefit students of all sizes
LIVONIA, MI – Adults who need to lose 50 pounds or adults looking for a unique boot-camp experience can adopt a healthier lifestyle by signing up for one of two new fitness classes offered by Schoolcraft College’s Continuing Education and Professional Development department.  Schoolcraft has partnered with Barwis Methods in Plymouth, MI to offer two unique physical fitness classes so students can get the knowledge, motivation and support they need to succeed while working with an unparalleled group of instructors, in a distinctive fitness facility stocked with equipment not found in a typical gym.
Barwis Instructors, Eric Potis and Dan Mozes have the background and proven experience to challenge students and take them to the next level.
Eric Potis, former strength and conditioning coach at the University of Michigan, earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Saginaw Valley State University and also holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Performance Enhancement with an emphasis in Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania. He is a Performance Enhancement Specialist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NASE certified, and CPR/AED certified.
Dan Mozes, a former center with the Minnesota Vikings, is a strength and conditioning coach who also recently worked at the University of Michigan as a strength coach for both the football and hockey teams. Dan was a four year starter in college and is considered to be one of the greatest linemen to play for West Virginia University. He won the Rimington Trophy in his senior season, recognizing him as the nation’s best center in NCAA football. Dan was also an Outland Trophy finalist, Lombardi Award semifinalist, a three-time first-team All- Big East selection, Academic All-American, a participant in the Senior Bowl, and a member of the Fox Sports All-Decade team.
Mozes and Potis will lead two classes, Fit at Any Size and Get Strong/Stay Strong Boot Camp, this fall.  The Fit at Any Size class will include lectures and monitored workouts to increase mobility, range of motion, reduce joint pain and help participants gain a more positive self-image.  The Get Strong/Stay Strong Boot Camp is a one-of-a-kind group fitness class where students will work at their own level to accomplish individual fitness goals and become motivated in a group dynamic.
Classes are 12-weeks long and will be held at Barwis Methods at 44191 Plymouth Oaks Blvd., Suite 600, Plymouth, MI, beginning September 11, 2012. Registration is underway and class sizes are limited.  For more information, visit www.schoolcraft.edu/cepd or call the Continuing Education and Professional development office at 734-462-4448.
