Government Contracting Focus of Schoolcraft Seminar
Published: 9/14/2006
Because the United States government purchases more than $250 billion worth of goods and services a year, it is an excellent source of business for small- and medium-sized companies. If you need to know more about contracting with the federal government or the state of Michigan, set aside Thursday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon for a seminar focusing on how to become a government contractor.
Seminar participants will learn how to classify their product or service with the federal government and how to register. They will examine appropriate laws and regulations, marketing strategies and ways to find opportunities for selling to the government. Topics involving the state of Michigan include vendor registration, getting bidding information, how the state buys goods and the bid process.
There will be a review of helpful resources for doing business with the state and federal government, including the services and support available from the Schoolcraft College Business Development Center.
The seminar fee is $40. To reserve a space, call 734-462-4438. Schoolcraft College is a public two-year college, offering classes at the Livonia campus on Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile roads, at the Radcliff Center in Garden City and online.
