Auditions for Schoolcraft College’s production of the Ken Ludwig comedy Shakespeare in Hollywood are scheduled for September 4 and 5 at 7 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Theatre on the main campus in Livonia, on Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads.

Auditions are open to everyone, including students and the community. No acting experience is necessary.

Winner of the 2004 Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play, Shakespeare in Hollywood is set in 1934. Shakespeare’s famous fairies Oberon and Puck magically have materialized in Hollywood on the set of Max Reinhardt’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Warner Bros. Studio. Instantly smitten by the glitz and glamour, they are ushered into the world of the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves.

Production dates are October 19, 20, 26, and 27, and November 2 and 3.
