The Student Activities Office recently started a new Student Leadership Record program. The Student Leadership Record (SLR) is an official record of the extra-curricular activities and accomplishments in which students participate during their time at Schoolcraft College. There are a number of advantages for those students who participate in the program, including: creation of a complete record of all of a student’s extra-curricular activities in one comprehensive document, tracking of a student’s volunteer and activity involvement and official copies of the Student’s Leadership Record to be used in portfolios and submitted with resumes.
There are eight types of extra-curricular activities that can be submitted for the SLR including membership in student organizations; leadership in student organizations or athletic teams; participation in athletics; on-campus employment; awards and honors from a college department, office or national organization; community service activities; professional conferences or workshops attended through a college department, office or registered student organization; and artistic and creative endeavors including performances, productions, concerts,
Students need to complete a Student Leadership Record Form for each activity they are involved in. These forms can be submitted at any time provided they have been verified appropriately. For those organizations and activities that have multiple meetings or events, the SLR Organization Participation Form can be submitted within two weeks of the end of each semester. The forms can be found at http://sao.schoolcraft.edu/.
