Assigned times for Winter 2009 credit registration
Published: 10/21/2008
With the Winter 2009 Registration cycle, Schoolcraft College is launching Assigned Registration Start Times. The new registration process will begin with the first assigned group of students able to register online (webadvisor.schoolcraft.edu) and via phone(734-462-4800) at 3 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Students can find their assigned start time and check their cumulative credits at http://www.schoolcraft.edu/webadvisor.
Students who have taken a class and earned a credit in one or more semesters from Winter 2007 through Summer 2008 have been assigned a time on Saturday, Nov. 1 in which they can begin to register online or via phone. Students new to Schoolcraft in Fall 2008 can begin to register online or via phone Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. For those who are new to the college in Winter 2009 or whose most recent semester of earned credits at Schoolcraft is prior to Winter 2007, they can begin to register at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2.It is important to note that transfer credits from another institution are not counted in a student’s total of earned credits for this process, only their earned Schoolcraft credits are counted.
More details about the process can be found on page 9 of the Winter 2009 Credit Schedule, at www.schoolcraft.edu/registration, by calling 734-462-4426 or emailing registration@schoolcraft.edu.
This new system was developed in response to student needs and is based on their suggestions. Typically in the first few hours of online and phone registration, demand often exceeds capacity preventing some students from registering in a timely manner. By staggering the start times for students, based on the number of earned credits, the demand will be more manageable. The hope is that the assigned registration start times will make it easier for students close to graduation to register for their classes, while reducing the burden on the registration system to the benefit of all students.
