Schoolcraft College now offers training in the growing field of domestic relations. Available in a condensed format from the Continuing Education and Professional Development Depatment, the new Domestic Relations Mediation Specialist Certificate requires the completion of two intensive courses and three one-day sessions offered over the course of two months. For spring/summer 2009 the courses are offered in sequence beginning May 11 and concluding June 29.

Courses in the program include Basic Community Mediation (2 weeks), Mediation Law (1 day), Domestic Relations Mediation (1 week), Domestic Violence Screening Protocol (1 day), and Mediation Practical Experience (1 day). Students may register for individual courses; to earn the Domestic Relations Mediation Specialist Certificate, students must complete all five courses.

Future course offerings will allow students to earn a Conflict Resolution Specialist Certificate.
