LIVONIA, MI—If states were judged on their employment like students are judged on their grades, Michigan would receive a solid B for employment. However, we do not tend to look at numbers and percentages that way when referring to employment figures. But according to Jay Block, best-selling author, industry pioneer and leader and an award winning master career coach, maybe we should start!
On Saturday, January 23, Schoolcraft College will host a Career Rejuvenation Seminar featuring Block. His unique, non-traditional approach to landing a job is not the typical “how to.” Instead, Block focuses on the positives—like the fact that there are jobs out there; that there are success stories; and people can improve their lives in a troubled economy.
During the Career Rejuvenation Seminar, attendees will feel recharged as Block takes them through a five step process that will help to land a job in this difficult job market. They will learn that they can start their job search anew by mastering these five key steps:
- Create a Positive Mindset and use the Power of Changing Beliefs
- Set Clearly Defined Goals in an Ever-changing Economy
- Communicate Value and STAND OUT from the Competition
- Develop a Strategic, Highly Structured Action Plan
- Take Massive Action and Master Self-marketing Skills
Block will be handing out a signed copy of his book, 101 Best Ways to Land a Job in Troubled Times, free to all attendees. His mission is to enhance the quality of the lives and careers of attendees by providing groundbreaking strategies to achieve meaningful career objectives.
Two sessions of the Career Rejuvenation Seminar will be offered at the VisTaTech Center at Schoolcraft College’s main campus in Livonia, Haggerty Road between Six and Seven Mile Roads:
- Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 9:00am-12:00pm
The cost to attend is $39. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged. For more information on these seminars or other career transition opportunities, contact the Continuing Education and Professional Development department at http://www.schoolcraft.edu/cepd or by calling 734-462-4448.
Schoolcraft College is a public two-year college, offering classes at the Livonia campus, at the Radcliff Center in Garden City and online at schoolcraft.edu.
