Summer Piano Camp offers two sessions this summer
Schoolcraft College’s Summer Piano Camp will offer two, two week-sessions this summer, each focusing on a different area of specialty, for local school-age pianists. New Three-Wheel Motorcycle Safety Class
Schoolcraft College will be offering a new Motorcycle Safety Class for those interested in learning how to ride the unique Three-Wheel Motorcycles everyone is seeing on the road in increasing numbers. The classes will be offered in July and September.

On Thursday, June 3, 2010 Schoolcraft College will host a special viewing of PBS's "Beyond the Motor City" at 1:15 p.m. in the Presentation Room of the VisTaTech Center. The video examines how Detroit, a grim symbol of America's diminishing status in the world, may come to represent the future of transportation and progress in America.

The Transition to College workshop series addresses the concerns and challenges adults face when considering a return to (or starting) college. The series of workshops focuses on relieving some of the anxiety that many adults see as an obstacle between themselves and a college education. The series of workshops is free. On the first day of Fall registration, Schoolcraft College set a new record for the largest number of registrations in a single day. Unfortunately, the demand proved to be too much for our electronic registration systems, which experienced significant overload, particularly during the morning and early afternoon. Trustees appoint Joan Gebhardt to fill vacancy on Schoolcraft board
Schoolcraft College trustees have chosen Joan A. Gebhardt to fill a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. She will be sworn in at the regular board meeting January 24 and will serve until June 30, 2007. The seat will be up for election on May 8, 2007; the seat's six-year term expires in 2013.
New City of Livonia bus service stops at Schoolcraft
The new Livonia Community Transit (LCT) bus service includes Schoolcraft College as a prescheduled stop. Students and staff who had relied on the Suburban Mobility for Regional Transportation (SMART) bus system can now use the LCT system.

Schoolcraft Seminar Focuses on Six Sigma Techniques
Smaller companies and service organizations can learn how to apply Six Sigma methods to improve quality and processes at a Schoolcraft College two-day seminar Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 14 and 15. Baritone Featured in Free Noon Concert at Schoolcraft

Empty Bowl Raises Funds for the Hungry
Schoolcraft College’s Empty Bowl Project raises funds for St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen to help feed the hungry in Detroit. Each year, students in ceramics classes donate bowls and other pieces to the project. Anyone who purchases a bowl receives a bowl of soup, a piece of bread and a cup of water, a basic meal but still more than many people enjoy on a daily basis.

Schoolcraft Hosts Tulsa Race Riot Expert
For 16 hours on May 31, 1921, mobs of white rioters threatened and then set fire to a 34-block black neighborhood of businesses and houses in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Tulsa Race Riot of 1921 was one of the worst civil disorders in U.S. history, leaving an estimated 10,000 homeless, 800 hospitalized and 300 or more dead.
Schoolcraft Credit Enrollment Exceeds 11,000 Students
Schoolcraft College announced that its fall credit enrollment totaled 11,225, the first time in college history that number has exceeded 11,000. Credit hour totals also reached a new high at 101,859.

Registration is going on now for Kids on Campus programs that begin July 13. Kids on Campus 2009 will feature a ‘summer camp’ format where each session will consist of an exciting week-long program centered on a particular subject. Sessions are offered for three weeks in July.
