Waitlisting Information

You can now waitlist for most courses. If you are taking a course through the Virtual Learning Collaborative or our non-credit/CEPD area, you will not be able to use the WL feature.

Important Information
  • You MUST have a valid email address to utilize waitlisting.
  • It's your responsibility to keep your email address current through WebAdvisor!
  • Students can waitlist for more than one section.
  • The WL email provides a deadline date for the student to register. If the deadline is missed, the seat is offered to the next student on the list.
  • Students that receive permission to register after the class has met must obtain a written consent of the instructor to register for the class.
The section I want is full. How do I put myself on the waitlist?
  1. Log onto WebAdvisor
  2. Select "Students"
  3. Choose "Register for Sections" and select the option that best meets your needs.
  4. If the section you desire is already full, click the arrow next to the Action field and select Waitlist.
  5. Scroll down and click submit.
If a seat becomes available you will receive permission to register in a section via email.
  1. Notification will be emailed to you granting you permission to register.
    1. The permission expiration date will be listed in the email.
    2. You MUST register during this time or the permission will expire and the seat will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
  2. Register for the section by accessing WebAdvisor's "Manage My Waitlist" option. Then, choose the register action for the section in which you wish to register. Click submit.
  3. As with all classes, payment must be made the same day you register or you will be dropped from the section for non-payment.

Please note: If you are on the waitlist for more than one section of the same course, the system will remove your name from the other sections' waitlist once you have registered/enrolled in one section.

What can I do with the "Manage My Waitlist" section in WebAdvisor?

You can:

  1. Check the status of waitlisted sections.
    1. When you are on a waitlist and waiting for your permission to register, your status will be displayed as "Active."
    2. Once you have permission to register, your waitlist status will change from "Active" to "Permission to Register."
  2. Register sections for which you have received permission.
    1. Click the arrow next to the section and click register.
    2. Scroll down and click submit.
    3. Return to the student menu and select "Pay Balance" to pay for the class.
  3. Remove yourself from a waitlist.
    1. Click the arrow next to the course and click remove.
    2. Scroll down and click submit.
